Emily-
Just today, and many other days, I prayed for you. I will continue as you lean into this new normal. It is a hard and brave work, indeed. May I recommend to you two great companions to me during the season of our most intense grieving- Tear Soup and Tracks of a Fellow Struggler (the second by John Claypool). I agree, no book fits another individual’s grief just right. Each one has it’s own story through grief. But you are right in knowing that the only way towards a whole and healthy life of joy is through the pain of grief. And, yes, you are right to know that grief just sneaks up on you in the strangest of places. As you continue to get snuck up on and as you live into your grief with great hope of finding joy in the “after” please know that you will be prayed for accordingly. My family and I think of you all the time. In fact, just this morning I was caught looking at Julian’s sweet face in the Nursery Wing at Colonial. What a wonderful boy. And, what a wonderful Mom you are.
With Great Love and Hope-
Megan (Bergman) Hughes

Emily,
I just wanted you to be aware, but you probably already are, about a website for people who have lost a child. I post on there every once in a while, but every single person on there can relate and you can talk to others who are going through life with the loss of a child. Go to Forums under this website:
